I have enjoyed living in Steamboat for nearly 30 years now and I can't recall another snow storm this big, this early.  Nearly 20 inches of the white stuff fell on the Steamboat ski area this past Sunday and Monday.  A few ski tracks could already be seen gracing the face of the mountain.  I must say, I considered a quick trip up to Rabbit Ears Pass for a few turns myself.In most years, early snows like this usually succumb to warmer weather over the course of October.  However, this one was pre... read more

The Sheraton Hotel in Steamboat Springs is considering the idea of becoming a Time Share only hotel.  There has been a lot of discussion whether this will bring in more tax dollars or less?  The other main concern to the resort industry is where will businesses stay for their conferences?  How will Steamboat be able to draw conferences in the future if there the Sheraton is no longer an option?The decision by the Sheraton hotel is slated for later this month.... read more
