Inventory remains at levels that are close to as low as we've seen in the last ten years.  This lack of inventory, especially in the lower prices ranges, is starting to impact overall sales volume.  In fact, February saw only 53 closed sales.  The lowest monthly number in two years.  It has been increasingly difficult to find single family homes, townhouses, and condos priced below $500,000 in Steamboat Springs.  Even in the outlying communities of Yampa, Phippsburg, Oak Creek, Stagecoach, ... read more

It always struck me that there are a lot of very fit people in and around Steamboat Springs.  Apparently, it's true.  According to a recent article in US News and World Report Routt County is the 8th healthiest in the entire nation.  Routt joins three other Colorado Counties in the top ten.   I guess it is no surprise.  It isn't unusual to run into an Olympian around town and just about everybody enjoys the outdoor lifestyle in some fashion.  With some many great outdoor recreatio... read more

I've been waiting with baited breath to see the details on the new Ikon Pass.  I'm happy to report that the new pass offers some great value for those that ski Steamboat frequently.  The Ikon Pass will offer access to 26 different ski areas for the less than the current cost of Steamboat Season Pass.  For someone like me that likes to ski here in Steamboat regularly but also visits other ski areas on occasion this equates to a real savings.  For example, I skied with friends in Utah for 3 days e... read more

The name Ski Town USA is one that is well deserved for Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  At last count, Steamboat has sent over 85 athletes to the Olympics.  The 2018 games are coming up this February and one local athlete has already qualified for a trip to South Korea to compete.  Congratulations to Bryan Fletcher for qualifying for his second trip to the Olympics to compete in Nordic Combined.  Several other local athletes still have a chance to make the Olympic team in a variety of disciplines.I... read more

Halloween Treat

Snow On The Jack-O-Lantern
Posted by Dave Moloney on October 31, 2017 in  Autumn  Fall  Holiday  Resort  Routt County  Seasonal  Skiing  Snow  Sports  Steamboat  Steamboat Springs  Winter

Steamboat awoke to a Halloween treat this morning.  Snow fell overnight putting a dusting on top of the old jack-o-lantern.  Snow for Halloween seems to be a bit of Steamboat tradition, with at least a bit of snow on the ground most years.  With several snow events in October things are shaping up for a good start to the ski season.  The snow making crews fired up the snow guns on Mt. Werner last week and opening day is just a little over three weeks away.  Time to wax up the skis!
